This was one of the most ALL-Star spectacles I've seen in years. The "Dunk" contest had to be one the most horrendous contests ever pre-sented.
The days of Dr. J, 'Nique, Mike J., David Thompson, Vince Carter are history, planted in the archvies of NBA All-Star games. It was said best by one of yesterdays participants--either Green (Celtics) or Thomas (Bulls) that every "dunk" known to man has already beeen tried. What they are doing now are sinply variations of whats been done previously.
Now almost every try is met with boredom and redicule. Those of us who watched were blessed with another 30-tries by the midget, Nate Robinson.
We saw some of his act by Spud Webb years ago, when it was a novelty seeing a "little" man elevate so high. But now, its oh-hum.
Oh, while they're still at it (making changes for the 2008 game), get rid of the 3-person teams--featuring out-of-conditioned old heads--with the neverwas.
